Mobile:

You can join Pring by sending an SMS to 9900

Example:

1. Write “hello” and send it to 9900
2. You will get this reply from Pring: “Please register with Pring by replying with your name”
3. On receiving this message you will have to reply with a valid username – Pring will then reply with the following message: “Greetings user! Welcome to Pring. SMS HELP to get more information.”

You can also join Pring by accepting invitation from an existing Pringer (say Ahmed)

Example:

1. Ahmed writes “invite 03001234567” and sends it to 9900
2. You receive the invitation from Ahmed: “Greetings! Ahmed wants to follow your updates on Pring. To register, reply with your name.”
3. You will then have to reply with a valid username to start using Pring

Making an update from your mobile

An update you make from your mobile will be sent to all your followers. Charges are Rs. 0.5+tax for a single SMS, no matter how many people it goes out to.

To make an update, type P before the update and SMS it to 9900.

Example:

P I'm back in Lahore! Who wants to meet up?

You are required to type a P before the update when using your mobile phone so that you don't mistakenly make an update when you actually just wanted to send a command or action.

Web:

You can join Pring from the web

You can register with Pring by going to the “Sign Up” page and filling out the registration form. You will have to confirm your email address to complete the registration process. In addition to that, you will also have to provide the confirmation code being sent to you to your mobile number during the registration, to use the full features of the service.

If you are an existing Pringer (on mobile), then you can create an online profile by filling out the form at the “profile for mobile” page.

Making an update from the web

You can make an update free of charge from your Pring homepage. There is a field at the top of the page that says, 'Hi (username), what're you upto?' Just type in your update there and press Share.

The people who can see your update depends on your privacy settings. Be sure to adjust them according to your preference before you begin making updates.

TOUR: You can take a 'Tour' of Pring and see what it offers by sending TOUR

HELP: Send this to start the HELP MENU

ON: Send ON, or START to turn all mobile notifications on

OFF: Send OFF, STOP, or QUIT to turn all mobile notifications off

COMMANDS: Sending COMMANDS will start the menu with the complete list of activities you can do on Pring 

TOPICS: Send this to start a menu with a list of interesting topics to 'follow'

RSS Bots
