What is Pring?

Pring is a Social Network that lets you share what you're up to with your friends via your cell phone or online in 420 characters or less.

How do I sign up?

Signing up is easy, just send an SMS to 9900 and you're in! For web users, you can sign up online on this site.

How do I unsubscribe?

For SMS users, send UNSUB to 9900, and a verification code will be sent to you. After verification your account will be deleted. If you're using the web, you can go to your account settings, at the bottom of the page, click on Delete Account. WARNING: All your data will be deleted, and this is not reversible.
This means your Prings, conversations, profile, etc.

All mobile networks in Pakistan are supported: Warid, Mobilink, Ufone, Telenor & Zong.

How much does it cost?

Pring will always be free online. Sending a message costs Rs. 0.5+Tax (around ~61 paisas total) for Ufone, Telenor, Zong and Mobilink or Rs 0.05+Tax (around ~6 paisas) for Warid. Receiving SMS is free.

Do I need the internet to use Pring?

That's one of the best things about Pring! You can access Pring entirely via SMS. There is no need for an internet connection. Try it and send HELLO to 9900.

Is my phone number safe?

We promise not to send you any spam or give out your phone number. We have a detailed Privacy Policy on how your information is stored or used. You have our word.

Can I use Pring outside of Pakistan?

You need to have a mobile phone active in Pakistan to be able to use Pring. Once your connection is verified, you can use it from anywhere in the world.

Why do I have to reply with an M to receive a long message? 

Pring is originally designed for 140 characters. However, we've added the ability to have longer updates. Just like you can press a link at the end of an update to view larger text, large updates have a snippet of the text and the user has to text M to recieve the full message. M stands for 'more'.

How many people can I follow?

There is no limit on the number of people that you can follow.

Can I get a list of commands to use on my cellphone?

Is Pring a replacement for Facebook SMS

No. Facebook SMS has many Facebook specific features which we do not intend to develop.

How do I turn off prings from my mobile?

Send OFF, you can resume by sending ON later.

There is a person who is posting offensive Prings. How can I report him?

Email at report@pringit.com please include details or send Report+<username>+<reason> to 9900.

How do I add my friends to Pring?

Text INVITE to 9900 and we'll give you your Pring PIN which you can forward to your friends. Any friend who texts this to 9900 will be following you. 

What is a verified account and how can I get that?

A verified account is confirmed to be authentic and is generally granted to a business or a public figure. This account is represented with a medal on the website and an asterisk on mobile messages. If you own a business or are a person of note, please send your contact number to feedback@pringit.com

How many invites can I send to my friends?

You can send a maximum of 1,000 invites on cell phones. If you wish to go beyond that limit, please contact us for further details.

Why can't I send more than one update in an hour via SMS?

To make Pring speedy and accessible for everyone, large accounts with more than 100+ followers are limited to performing one update per hour to reduce SMS traffic generated as well as to decrease chances of spam.

Can I stop advertisements that are at the end of my message?

Pring is made free of cost with the help of thousands of advertisers. To make the experience useful for everyone, the system automatically selects the right ad for the user, based upon a number of parameters.

Can I view my followers on mobile?

You can check the number of your followers, your Prings and the number of people you are following by sending STAT or STATS to 9900. You can view the names of your followers or people you follow by texting LIST to 9900.

How can I update my status from my mobile phone?

When you want to update your status from your cell phone, write P<space>message and send it to 9900.

Why do I have to type P at the beginning of a message when making an update?

This is to protect you from accidentally sending an update, when you originally wanted to perform a command or an action.
